Reservations & Events Coordinator
Cafe Murano Covent Garden, London
From £16.21 per hour
DAYTIME, WEEKEND
Full time
We are looking for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Reservations & Events Coordinator to join our central reservations and events team at Angela Hartnett's Café Murano.
With four restaurants across London, Café Murano is known for its seasonal Italian cooking, warm hospitality and relaxed approach to dining. From a table for two to a private dinner or a large celebration, we want every guest to feel well looked after.
Based at our Covent Garden office, you'll be part of a small, friendly team looking after reservations, private dining and group bookings across our restaurants.
This is a varied role, combining guest relations, event planning, administration and sales. We're looking for someone who enjoys speaking to people, takes pride in the little details and has the confidence to turn an initial enquiry into a confirmed booking.
What the role involves
- Managing reservations, private dining and group enquiries by phone and email, providing warm, professional and efficient service.
- Taking ownership of event enquiries from the first conversation through to confirmation and final arrangements.
- Proactively following up on enquiries, converting opportunities into bookings and helping the team achieve sales targets.
- Building relationships with guests, understanding their requirements and recommending the most suitable spaces and experiences.
- Preparing event proposals, menus, booking confirmations and function sheets, ensuring every detail is accurate.
- Working closely with restaurant management, kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure events run smoothly.
- Maintaining accurate reservation records, guest information and event details.
- Supporting the wider team with sales initiatives, guest experiences and the day-to-day running of a busy reservations office.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone with an interest in restaurants, food and hospitality, who understands that great service begins long before a guest walks through the door.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience in restaurant reservations, private dining, events or a similar guest-facing hospitality role.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with a confident and personable telephone manner.
- Strong organisational skills, great attention to detail and the ability to manage several enquiries and deadlines at once.
- A proactive, sales-minded approach, with the confidence to follow up on leads and secure bookings.
- Good computer skills and the ability to learn new booking and administration systems.
- A positive, helpful attitude and a genuine willingness to support your colleagues.
Experience with restaurant reservation systems such as SevenRooms or Opentable is essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is reliable, personable, switched on and genuinely enjoys making things happen.
What we offer
- A friendly and supportive team within an established, quality-led restaurant group.
- Opportunities to learn, develop and progress within the business.
- 50% discount when dining in our restaurants, for you and up to five friends.
- Good-quality staff meals.
- Up to 28 days' paid holiday, increasing with length of service.
- £1,000 employee referral bonus.
- Employee assistance programme, including access to a 24/7 online GP.
- Company events, supplier trips and opportunities to get involved in special events and festivals.
If you love hospitality, enjoy working with people and want to be part of a team where your contribution really matters, we'd love to hear from you.
